Community Voices: Downtown Partnership supports engaging outside development counsel for Trop

We at the Partnership recently spoke out about the need for additional resources to help support the City of St. Petersburg in efforts to find and negotiate with a development partner on Tropicana Field. This is a complex, multi-faceted, generational development that will change the trajectory of our community’s growth for many decades. Our community will benefit from the experience of a professional owner’s representative who can help to ensure we maximize this opportunity and fulfill the promises that were made to residents of the Gas Plant neighborhood who were displaced many years ago. We also think a consultant can help support our goal of keeping the Tampa Bay Rays as a critical part of our city’s identity and economy.
