The program will support all Downtown St. Pete stakeholders. Visitors can seek directions and recommendations from the uniformed ambassadors; walkways will be sanitized, remaining clear of debris and hazards through overnight pressure washing and the Clean Team will maintain a pristine sense of place as trained team members focus on daily litter collection, graffiti and sticker removals, beautification, pet station upkeep and proactively addressing any code issues for local businesses.

The St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership explored various approaches before arriving at the proposed DID. The initial plan was to designate a Special Services District where funding would come from a special tax special assessments levied on properties within the defined boundaries. After owners pointed out that the need for services correlated with the rise in visitors to the district, the St. Petersburg Downtown Partnership shifted to alternative funding sources.
Ultimately, the team established preliminary DID boundaries that encompass the core of Downtown and immediately surrounding blocks, and pinpointed 425 currently unmetered parking spots which will gain ParkMobile signage and become metered at the current rate.
